About this Death Cafe

Paul and Aly believe that talking about Death and Dying is not taboo.  'We need to get back to the time when Death was treated as part of life.  At a Death Cafe there can be sadness and grief but there is joy, laughter, support and honesty too'

Subjects at Death Cafes we have both hosted have ranged from the practical aspects of planning for the end of life so wishes and choices are respected to what happens after death, to overcoming fear of death and dying, to honouring our finite lives  to greif and bereavement.  But there is no agenda - people can talk about whatever is important for them.

About Paul Kefford & Aly Dickinson

Paul Kefford is a life-centred Funeral Celebrant and End of Life Doula. He seeks to support individuals to have 'conversations for life'.  He has facilitated Death Cafes in his home county of Wiltshire as well as Bath and London. Paul is actively involved in the development and delivery of advanced training for Funeral Celebrants and in Advance Care Plannning (for when the time comes)

Aly Dickinson lives in Sidmouth and is an End of Life Doula.  She trained with a not for profit organisation called Living Well Dying.  As well as supporting people at End of Life she also works hard to promote death literacy in Communities in the South West and to make Advance Planning accessible to all who want to plan for their Dying and Death. Aly has hosted Death Cafes in the South West and London.
