About this Death Cafe

We ran the Death Cafe Thirsk event monthly for a year, ending in Nov 2015. I had a baby and the winter months were drawing in. But we are back due to popular demand! So we are running this Death Cafe Thirsk as a 'one off' event as there have been quite a few requests for another opportunity to meet up; old and new friends alike.

Holyrood House have been very warm and welcoming in allowing us to hold the event at their premises; a really amazing counselling, respite facility in Sowerby, Thirsk. 

If you fancy coming you can expect a cup of tea, a slice of cake and a chance to reallly engage in discussing any aspect of death and dying that interests you. It is always fascinating to just listen to other peoples stories so don't feel any pressure. Come along, have fun, meet some friends and actually have a good time!

About Naomi Wood

We have three people who facilitate this event regularly Pat, Geof and Liz. They are all local residents with bags of experience from palliative care social work (Liz) to counselling (Pat) and a teacher/ counsellor (Geof). This brief information does not do justice to their comittment and kindness. They are wonderful people who have run Thirsk Death Cafe for 12 months last year with a resounding success.
