About this Death Cafe
We are offering this Death Cafe as we believe it's important to have a space people, especially younger people, to discuss issues and feelings about death and dying.
We believe in a totally inclusive space, so welcome people from BME and LGBTQIA communities. We promote a safe, respectful and warm space - with cake!
Andrew is vegan, so there will be delicious vegan cake.
This event is part of a week long programme of events for Dying Matter Awareness Week supported by BrumYODO- a Birmingham collective enabling open and honest conversations about Death and Dying.

About Stuart and Andrew Lightheart
Stuart and Andrew Lightheart met 16 years ago when Stuart was working as a nurse at a children's hospice, looking after the daughter of a friend of Andrew's. On their first date they talked about death and dying and found out they shared similar views. So death has been part of their marriage right from day one!
Andrew has fifteen years' experience as a coach and facilitator and particularly enjoys holding a safe space for frank and open discussion.
Stuart has taught workshops on death and dying, and worked not only as a nurse but also in a senior management role at a children's hospice. He currently works alongside a green undertaker in Kings Heath.
