About this Death Cafe

It’s Time for Tea and Big Conversations during Dying Matters Awareness Week and this year we have set ourselves the challenge of hosting the biggest Death Café in East London. A Death Café is a tea party style gathering which encourages facilitated discussion, openness and awareness around death and dying in a supportive environment.

The Death Cafe will be preceded by a short panel talk to get everyone in the mood for talking.  Joining Jon Underwood on the panel is FT journalist Claer Barrett who has her own story of family reconnection following her attendance at our Death Café last year, St Joseph’s Hospice Nurse Consultant Nigel Dodds and Philip Adams from Age UK East London.

About St Joseph's Hospice

Jon Underwood, founder of the Death Café movement will co-host the Death Cafe alongside St Joseph's Hospice Nurse Consultant Nigel Dodds and Clinical Psychologist Susan Hennessey.
