About Gorilla Perfumes Islington

Gorilla Perfumes Islington says "One of our perfumes, Death & Decay, was created after our perfumer went through a long period of grief and mourning. He created the perfume in the hope that it would transport anyone who smelled it into a place where they could quietly contemplate life and death. Before you smell it, you expect it to be horrible, because of the name - but actually the scent is pleasant, and one our perfumer hoped would conjure peace, meditation, acceptance. Along with his son, he then created another 8 fragrances based around the subject of death, renewal and moving on, all influenced by what was a particularly tough time in both their lives.

"When we heard about Death Cafe, we thought the concept was very similar to the perfume - a concpet that we believe is important to talk about, to share. We felt impelled to host one, hopefully in an environment people will find calm, quiet and relaxing.

Do feel free to turn up at 7pm if you'd like to chat to us about the stories behind the perfumes."
