About this Death Cafe

We want to have our Death Cafe meetings to create an awareness of death and apreciate life more. We will meet in a safe, friendly atmosphere with coffee, tea and dessert (or dinner if you haven't eaten yet) And encourage people to freely talk about their experiences with the death of others.                                   As well as their thoughts about their own death. A discussion group with just one topic: death, which will make a fantastic conversation.

As an open, respectful and confidential space free of discrimination where people can express their views safely - See more at: http://deathcafe.com/new/#workingwithus

About Teddy

My Mom died unexpectedly when I was almost 5 yr.s old. So I grew up being very much aware of death.

In 1985 I wrote my BA in Social Work Thesis on Death & Dying and the role it played and now plays in different societies.

Ten years ago I lost my husband to cancer and experienced the wonderful help of Hospice care.

I volunteered with Hospice for 4 years and am a member of ADEC

I "enjoy" talking about death, and see it as part of life, instead of a taboo.
