About this Death Cafe

The Young Bereavement Professionals Group is excited to host our seventh Death Cafe!  We will be meeting at Inspired Grounds Cafe in Valley Junction.

Please join us for an open discussion about anything related to death! We'll have two questions when you arrive: What is your name, and why did you join us tonight?  From there, we'll give everyone a chance to speak and hear others!

Delicious drinks and food will be available for purchase from Inspired Grounds.

About Young Bereavement Professionals Group

Buffy Peters started her career of working with grieving people as an avid volunteer with Amanda the Panda and in August 2014 she started as the coordinator of Hamilton’s Academy of Grief & Loss. One of the things she enjoys most about the Death Café is having a safe place where people can openly discuss anything they want regarding death.

Carmen Elliott has been working and volunteering with grieving families for over nine years with Amanda the Panda Family Grief Center, The Ulman Cancer Fund, and Hospice. Her favorite part of Death Cafe is not knowing where the conversation will go!

Carrie Bauer has worked in the death, dying, and bereavement field for almost nine years, where she has worked in hospice and has been the Director of Hamilton’s Academy of Grief & Loss since December 2012. Her favorite part of Death Café is creating a space in the community to talk openly about death and grief.

Rivka Schrodt has worked in social services and healthcare since 2002. She currently works as a counselor for survivors of trauma.  She looks forward to hearing what everyone brings to the event's discussion around death. Everyone has a unique perspective and experience.
