About this Death Cafe

These death cafes are like a book club but w/out a book; Instead, the topic is death. We break into groups of about 6 to 10 and the free flowing sharing begins. You'll hear folks say they want to talk about death with their adult children but their adult children shut them down. Attendees sometimes say their loved one's suffered from fear and lack of information as they lay dying and these folks want something different for themselves; they'll sometimes say they want only to have reality acknowledged and the freedom to freely discuss what's in their hearts. They wantto talk about NOT suffering; about the likelyhood of an afterlife; about what happens during cremation, what they saw as their mom died, how they've dealt with their terminal diagnosis and why people won't let them talk about it. It's a group directed converstation with no agenda, goal, nothing for sale and no experts. Death moved into the spot that  Sex used to occupy as the "forbidden topic", and we recognize that this silence is harming us, not helping us. Join as we free ourselves and explore our final days just as deeply as we've considered the other periods of our lives. xo
