About this Death Cafe
AltSA Death Cafe is for anyone who identifies as "alternative" - whatever that means to you - in relation to spirituality (or lack thereof), lifestyle, sexual and/or gender orientation, etc.
Communities outside the "mainstream", particularly in regard to spirituality and family structure, have unique issues and experiences around death that can sometimes feel hard to talk about in a space that is not explicitly made safe for, and welcoming of, alternative viewpoints.
This is that safe space.
Come enjoy conversation, cake and companionship as we talk about the one thing we absolutely all have in common - Death!
About Laurie Dietrich
Laurie is a theatre artist, a ritualist and a deathworker. She is a practicing Buddhist, a pagan priestess/teacher, and someone whose interest in and acceptance of death has been making people uncomfortable since she was a small girl hanging out in cemeteries.
