About this Death Cafe
This Death Cafe is being held in order to emphasize to the Columbia community that speaking of death does not have to be a negative or depressing conversation. The event will be a free-flowing discussion in which people are encouraged to speak about death and its various aspects. And of course, refreshments and cake will be served!
About Dr. Judith Whiting
Dr. Judith White, a social worker turned family attorney, will be hosting the Death Cafe. Ivy Wilborn, a Master's of Social Work student at the University of South Carolina will be facilitating the event. This will be the first Death Cafe held in Columbia so Judith and Ivy are excited to bring the movement to their city.
