About this Death Cafe

Through my experience working for hospice it became evident that the majority of people in our culture have counter-productive beliefs and opinions about death -- both their own and others'. The topic of death is tabu in many families and people too often give in to fears and irrational beliefs when confronted with the imminent passing of a loved one.

I am holding this Death Cafe at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Fayetteville, and am inviting members and friends of the Fellowship to attend. Our Adult Religious Education Chair, Brooke Eldredge, will be present and will help facilitate our cafe. We're hoping to open up this topic and allow folks to give voice to their concerns, wishes, questions etc. so as to normalize death as a (very important) part of life.
