About Sue Caden

Sue Caden
Facilitator of Death Café Bath

Sue Caden is an experienced Therapeutic Harp Practitioner and volunteer at Dorothy House Hospice in Winsley, Wiltshire. She is training to become an end of life doula with ‘Living Well Dying Well’ based in Lewes, East Sussex. Doulas encourage reflection on how to live life fully, while planning and preparing for the end of life in a safe and supportive way.

In the UK, ‘Living Well Dying Well’ are pioneering the role of the doula, as a companion and mentor, in support of the whole family, before, during and after this important life event. The overriding wish is to encourage an approach to dying that is humane, respectful, and honouring of an individual’s unique identity and sense of self. Doulas encourage an environment of loving support, kindness, respect and dignity, whether at home, in a nursing home, hospice or hospital, to increase the confidence and capacity of family carers to look after their dying.

Sue has twelve years experience in holistic health education as a trainer and accredited Health Creation Mentor where she specialises in providing mentoring including for the life/death transition. Sue is passionate and committed to developing best practice in her work and to communicating what she has learned to facilitate and support others to do the same.
