About this Death Cafe

Let's Have Coffee and Talk About Death

Hello, my name is Amelia Carroll from Sacred Spirit Passages and I think talking about death is a great way to spend some time.  Join me at the relaxing and inviting Heron Lodge where we will share respectful and provocative conversation about death and dying in a safe, non-judgmental environment.

With 75% of Americans saying they would prefer to die at home yet only 25% actually do and the vast majority of bankruptcies result from end-of-life medical costs, is talking about death and how we want to die the most important and costly conversation America is not having?  Have these issues impacted your life or the life of someone you know?  Bring your thoughts and stories and join me on October 18th at Heron Lodge and Let's Have Coffee and Talk About Death(deathcafe.com)

About Amelia Carroll

Amelia Carroll has been working in the healing arts professions for over 20 years and is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in private practice.  Her extensive work experience includes hospitals, hospices, nursing homes, and a cancer treatment center where she has worked doing research on spirituality and healing, as a bereavement coordinator, as a mind-body therapist, a mental health counselor, and as a chaplain.  She earned a Master of Science Degree in Counseling from Seattle Pacific University, acquired studies and training in world religions, spirituality, healing and integrated medicine. She is Certified in Thanatology: the study of dying, death and bereavement. Most recently, she received Certification in Spiritual Direction from the Sacred Art of Living Center, Living and Dying Series and Anamcara Project.  Most recently, singing with a Threshold Choir has added another dimension to her work and study in the field of death and dying.

Heron Lodge is an absolutely beautiful retreat center and vacation property on Wildcat Lake in Bremerton, WA.  With spectacular views of the lake, it exudes comfort and joy.  Owned and operated by the very gracious, warm, kind and generous Kathy and Larry Little who go to great lengths to make certain your time at the lodge is perfect.  Heron Lodge is a truly magical place!
