To mark today, what would have been the 45th birthday of my brother and founder of Death Cafe, Jon Underwood, and his first posthumous birthday, we have worked with the excellent Flexible Films to put together this video of Jon. Here he talks about how and why he set up Death Cafe, and its importance to him.

We hope you enjoy watching this as much as we enjoyed creating it for you.

Huge thanks to Flexible Films for their dedication and hard work to make this video, to Rapid for letting us use the music featured, and also all the videographers for allowing us to use their footage.

I miss Jon. He got a good thing going and I am going to keep having death cafes until I can't.

What a gift to get to see and hear Jon speak about Death Cafe. I will share this with Death Cafe Santa Barbara. Thank you.

Thank you for bringing Jon's living presence to those of us who are just now learning of his work.

I miss Jon. I am committed to keeping his vision for Death Cafe unchanged and in the format he wanted.
