Getting Started!

I am looking into holding my first Death Cafe and would welcome any hints and guidance from others. I have read the documents on this site but I am unsure if I just go ahead and organise it and advertise it on here, or do I need to get in contact with anyone first?

Also any good ideas as to what has worked well for others would be helpful.

Thank you, Lisa

Hello Lisa
I know how you feel!I am planning my first Death Cafe too, about to advertise it on here for 12 May. When is yours? I read the documents here, contacted a couple of other Death Cafe organisers (to talk about the practical arrangements ) and will have attended a couple of Death Cafes by the time I hold mine. It is a combination of excitement with some nerves at the moment but have courage and go for it!

Hi Lisa

I would encourage you to go ahead and do it. What worked for me was going as a participant first and reflecting on the experience. The venue and timeing are important. Saturday afternoon around 4pm works for 1.5 hours. I'm happy to share more if you have specific questions. Brian
