Nelson Mandela on End of Life

Nelson Mandela commissioned the South African Law Commission to draft a Bill, called The End of Life Decisions Act of 1999.

The Bill gathered dust in Parliament because it was felt that its timing was too close to the also controversial Abortions Act that had just been passed.

My goal is to ensure that Madiba's Bill (which covered both Assisted Dying and Advance Directives) will see the light of day, be debated in Parliament and passed into law.
